Programs:
EducationThe
Care Group physicians are actively involved in the education of
fellow physicians at all levels of training. Many have
university teaching appointments and/or research affiliations.
The Care Group is affiliated with the senior elective program at
the
Indiana University School of Medicine which enables senior
medical students to further their knowledge of clinical
cardiology by participating in the care of our patients. We also
work with physicians participating in the Graduate Medical
Education Program at St. Vincent Hospital. At our
Methodist/Clarion location, The Care Group cardiologists make
daily rounds with Indiana University School of Medicine
residents, as well as provide three academic lectures weekly.
The Care Group hosts several educational courses throughout the
year to update physicians on the most recent advances in
cardiovascular medicine. Such programs include Progress in
Cardiology, Update in Cardiology and Women and Heart Disease. In
the early spring, we host a yearly symposium emphasizing
prevention and risk factor management of heart disease, focusing
on physician directed "nurse managed" prevention.
In addition, The Care Group maintains a Speaker's Bureau as a
resource for both medical groups and community organizations.
Our Speaker's Bureau is comprised of Care
Group physicians and staff who are available to speak on a
variety of topics related to cardiovascular medicine and medical
practice management.
